Biography

My name is Amanda Dawn Walling and I was born and raised in Nashville Tennessee.  My dad taught me to color and draw as a young child and I have always loved art.  I could put all of my thoughts in my drawings and paintings and just escape.  In high school, I thought I would graduate and go to art school.  In my senior year, I applied and got accepted into a couple of different art schools but it all came down to money, and at the time we didn't have enough to send me to an expensive art school.  So I guess you could say I settled at MTSU and majored in painting.  A semester went by and I decided to change my major to Graphic Design since I also liked computers.  During my second year in college I studied abroad in Italy for a month.  It was absolutely the best time of my life.  I was in heaven!  I couldn't believe it art was everywhere.  I walked into the Sistine chapel and looked up at Michelangelo's masterpiece and it was so overwhelming.  After a month of learning the language, absorbing all the art I could, and making art of my own, we had to come home.  I cried when we landed in Nashville.  Two more years went by and something happened, I started to mature.  I started to realize more about myself.  I met my husband and my priorities changed.  After a long debate I realized that I had to change my major.  I changed it to Computer Information Systems.  This seems a little extreme but it makes sense.  I love computers and I love art.  My dream is to be a web designer so that I can use my creativity and my technical experience.  I am now married to a wonderful man for three years and am very happy with the choices I've made.  I hope to graduate next year and find a fulfilling career and hopefully start a family and as they say live happily ever after.
